Foyer Harlequin Marble Floors

Welcome to the latest installment of "Curated by James A." In this installment I will be featuring the black and white harlequin flooring in the foyer.

The Harlequin marble floor pattern in the foyer below is a combination of 12" x 12", Carrara marble from Italy, and Negro Marquina from Spain. The 6-inch wide-marble border is created from 24" x 24" Negro Marquina tiles cut down to 24" x 6".

The marble is honed for a mat finish. A polished surface, with the way it reflects light, would not look good in such a small space.
